The 50 teams were drawn into five
pools, A to E. There are 10 teams in each group with a seeded team playing a non-seeded
team. The first round has a knock-out system with the victors advancing to the Second
Round. The first leg took place 7-9 March 2000 and the second leg was between 21-23
April 2000
