Oita

 Oita is the remotest Japanese venue, with the most convenient access being by air from Tokyo, Osaka, or Seoul and is situated on the eastern side of the island of Kyushu,There are also sea links with the main ports in Japan, and Pusan in Korea. The region is best known for its hot spring resorts, the most famous of which are Beppu and Yufuin, which are also Japan's largest. T


Oita City is situated in the Beppu Bay area and is the main city on the Seto inland sea. Local products include shiitake mushrooms, mackerel and bamboo crafts. For shopping Oita has four shopping centres; Gallery Takemachi, Funai Gobangai (5th Avenue), Centroporta Shopping Mall, and Sun Avenue, all within walking distance of the train station. The Miyako Machi entertainment district has pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs to suit most tastes, and other attractions include the Funai Castle ruins, Kijima Amusement Park (in Beppu City), and Oita Aqua Park. The city's football team, Oita Trinity, is in the Japan Football league, and hopes that the World Cup will help its efforts to become a J League team.
