Air
Haneda Airport (Tokyo) to Oita Airport is a 90-minute
flight, plus an hour by bus or half an hour by
hovercraft to central Oita. From Osaka there are 8
flights daily (1 hour).
Train From Tokyo
(Tokyo Station) JR Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen
super-express to Kokura and then change to limited
express on the Nippo Honsen Line to Oita (6 hours 25
minutes) From Osaka (Shin Osaka Station) Shinkansen
bullet train 4 hours. From Tokyo 16 hours 40 minutes by
direct sleeper limited express.
Ferry Overnight
services are available from Kobe and from Osaka to Beppu.

The square measure
in northeastern Kyushu of Japan is 6,332km2, overlooking
Setonaikai. The prefecture office location is Ooita City. The
steep Kyushu mountains stretches from the central part to the
southeast and there is a small coastal plain in the northern
and eastern part. The weather is warm and there is no cold
area. The farming population is almost 45% and rice,*oranges,
and * vegetables are raised. Shiitake mushrooms and bamboo are
especially famous. Coastal industrial areas were recently
developed and the petrochemical industry is starting to grow.
There are various unique folk events and relics in every area
and also the national parks Setonaikai* and Aso are nice to
